Council offering chance for under 16s to book free sessions at five leisure centres in Enfield

Children aged under 16 will be able to swim for free at leisure centres across Enfield borough during the summer holidays, the council has announced.
Sessions will be available over a six-week period from Monday, 25th July and will end during the week commencing Monday, 29th August.
Chinelo Anyanwu, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for public spaces, culture and local economy, said: “We are funding free swimming for schoolchildren in the borough so they have the opportunity to take part in an enjoyable activity during the summer holidays.
“Swimming is a fantastic way to socialise, make friends and to exercise at the same time. I hope as many children as possible will take up this fabulous opportunity and book their free session.”
Two one-hour sessions are on offer each day from Monday to Friday at Albany, Edmonton and Southbury leisure centres; one-hour sessions will be available each day from Monday to Friday at Southgate Leisure Centre; and one-hour sessions will be provided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Arnos Pool.
Eligible children can book their free sessions via Fusion, which runs the council’s leisure centres. Up to 10,000 children are predicted to take up the free swimming spaces.
