Ever fancied getting into swing dancing? Watched an episode of Strictly and thought you could do better?

A new weekly swing club has launched in Southgate and we’d love to see you there, whether you’ve been jiving for years or you’re just a beginner, everyone is welcome to come along and join the fun.

The Wednesday-night swing nights at The Southgate Club feature live bands, playing the classic swing songs of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, with dancers from all over London ripping it up on the club’s fabulous wooden dance floor!

We had been looking for a new venue for swing-dancing in North London for a while, and The Southgate Club really is the perfect venue; great floor, attractive surroundings, a good stage and house PA system, air-conditioning and easy access on public transport with Southgate tube just two minutes from the club’s door.

Once the swing club has been going and built up a strong dance community, we plan to extend the range of events to include Sunday afternoon tea dances, DJs and swing dance teaching sessions. We have an exciting programme scheduled for December, with the Madeleine Rose Whitney band performing for us on Wednesday 1st December, followed by Minnie & The Moochers on Wednesday 8th December. We are then closing the year with The Louise Messenger Swingtet on Wednesday 22nd December.
