Edmonton Green Shopping Centre is hosting a free ‘Spooky Samba Festival’ during the October half-term break.

The festival, set to transform the centre’s North Square into a spine-chilling extravaganza, will feature a range of hair-raising performances.

A “Brazilian samba band, a mesmerising circus juggler, and a fang-tastic local dance group” will all take to the stage, providing entertainment for the whole family.

Upon arrival, young guests will receive free Halloween balloons, stickers, and recyclable bags for collecting Halal sweets from the treat stations.

There will also be a professional face painter on hand, as well as a temporary tattoo station, to give guests their very own gruesome makeovers.

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to enter a free prize draw and take part in some dance-based games – all linked to the centre’s EdMINItons kids’ club.

To help create a frightfully good atmosphere, guests are encouraged to wear their favourite Halloween outfits, adding to the fun and liveliness of the event.

Joe Katona, centre manager at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, said: “At our recent ‘One Great Day’ event, we were struck by the attendees’ incredible love for music and dance that is deeply ingrained in the fabric of this diverse and vibrant community.

“The ‘Spooky Samba’ event is a great way of combining these passions with Halloween to create something that we hope local people and visitors to the centre will thoroughly enjoy.

“We also recognise that the real magic happens when the community comes together. The inclusion of Plus Ultra Dance, part of Northside Youth & Community Connexions, a charity based at the centre, will provide our young people with a platform to shine while ensuring that the community sits at the very heart of this event.”
