A large group of Enfield senior citizens were treated to a day by the sea in Southend to celebrate a local care company’s tenth anniversary.

Home Instead Enfield, which helps elderly people to continue living at home independently, marked the significant milestone on ‘Silver Sunday’, the UK’s national day dedicated to celebrating older people, on Sunday, 4th October.

To commemorate a decade of supporting older people and their families across the borough, Home Instead Enfield invited clients, current and retired staff members, and representatives from a variety of local clubs and community groups to enjoy a day out in Southend-on-Sea.

A coach departed from the Home Instead Enfield office, transporting guests to the Essex coast for a day of “companionship, laughter and relaxation”. The group enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Gettings Casino in Westcliff, overlooking the seafront and offering stunning views across the quay.

Just under 40 people attended the event, which was blessed with glorious sunshine, creating the perfect setting for a memorable day by the sea.

The outing provided a valuable opportunity for many attendees who may otherwise find it difficult to travel outside London and enjoy a day at the coast. It also brought together familiar faces from throughout Home Instead Enfield’s ten-year journey, highlighting the strong connections that have been built within the local community.

Alexandra Sacker, owner and director of Home Instead Enfield, said: “As we celebrate ten years of Home Instead Enfield, it was incredibly important for us to mark the occasion in a way that reflected who we are and what we stand for. Seeing so many clients,
colleagues, retired team members and community friends come together for a wonderful day by the seaside was truly heart-warming.

“We are proud to have spent the last decade providing companionship-led care that helps older people remain independent and connected to their communities.

“Our philosophy has always been simple: companionship care delivered by local people for local people. This special day was a celebration of those relationships and the community spirit that has been at the heart of
Home Instead Enfield since day one.”

Since opening its doors in October 2016, Home Instead Enfield has supported hundreds of older people across the borough, delivering “personalised home care services designed to help clients live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes”.
