A new litter-picking hub will be created in Enfield Town after a successful fundraising campaign.

More than £4,300 has been raised via Spacehive to help create the hub, which will act as a “visible and accessible base” for equipment, volunteer co-ordination and partnership‑led environmental improvements.

Litter-picking activities will focus on Enfield Town centre, Town Park, the New River and heritage areas such as St Andrew’s Church.

The hub is being created as part of a partnership between CleanupUK, Enfield Council, Enfield Town Action Team and Palace Gardens Shopping Centre.

Danielle Shap, who runs a popular litter-picking group based around Hilly Fields, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that we have reached our fundraising target for the Enfield Town Litter Picking Hub. A huge thank you to every single person and business who contributed on Spacehive, you made this possible.

“This will be the first litter-picking Cleanup hub based right here in Enfield Town. We are looking to launch in early 2027, and the Cleanup hub will mean that any local business, community group, school or organisation can borrow professional equipment for free and undertake their own litter picks with my support.

“This hub is about making it easy for everyone to take pride in our town centre and green spaces and keep Enfield Town clean, as well as enhancing community spirit and local regeneration.”
