Enfield Council leader Alessandro Georgiou is inviting local residents to ask him questions in person

The leader of Enfield Council is hosting his first ‘ask the leader’ event this Wednesday (28th).
Alessandro Georgiou is inviting local residents to quiz him about “the topics that mean the most to you” at Enfield Grammar School’s main hall from 6.45pm, for two hours.
It is described as “a fantastic opportunity” to meet the council leader “as part of a drive towards delivering direct accountability”.
Cllr Georgiou became council leader in May following the local election, at which Enfield Labour lost their majority for the first time in 16 years. Enfield Conservatives are now the largest party at the civic centre, but remain one seat shy of a majority so have formed a minority administration instead.
In his drive to improve transparency, Cllr Georgiou had pledged to host the ‘ask the leader’ forums every other month, although this week’s event is the first to be held so far. It will also be a chance to hear directly for the leader on “the council’s recent progress, priorities and proposed works”.
For anyone who wishes to go along, there is no need to book in advance, with seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, until the capacity of the venue is reached.
