The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in life-threatening condition.
Other witnesses reported that they heard screams and came out to find the victim lying on the ground with blood coming from his head.
Jaesis Boatswain, aged 40 and of Swan Walk, Ponders End, was arrested on Tuesday (4th). He was later charged with grievous bodily harm without intent, robbery, assault, and threatening someone with a sharp object in public.
Boatswain was remanded in custody and is set to appear in Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 10th December.
Detectives have appealed for anyone with more information to come forward to assist their ongoing investigation into the crime.
