Eighteen people safely left the building before the fire brigade arrived

A roof on a block of flats collapsed following a fire in Enfield – but no-one was hurt.
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled the flat fire in Robin Close, near Chase Farm Hospital, yesterday Sunday (8th) from around 4.50pm.
Part of the roof and the first floor of the building were damaged by fire. The roof subsequently suffered a partial collapse. Eighteen people safely left the building before London Fire Brigade arrived.
One of the brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene to tackle the fire from height.
The fire was brought under control by 6.38pm and the cause is under investigation.
