A conservation group is inviting local residents to a family-friendly ‘spring celebration’ at a temporary green space in Edmonton.

The Meridian One Community Garden is a ‘meanwhile’ space on a former gasworks site that forms part of the Enfield Council-led Meridian Water redevelopment zone.

In ten years time the site is due to be built on but for now volunteers are helping to transform it into a green urban oasis.

The Conservation Volunteers group is managing the garden for the first four years to help get it up and running. TCV say they “welcome community input into it’s design and development”.

The community garden is managed primarily for food growing and hosts a weekly gardening ‘Green Gym’ and under-fives ‘Nature Explorers’ group. TCV also host school sessions, family events, workshops and corporate events.

On Saturday, 18th May, Edmonton residents are invited to come down between 11am and 2pm to enjoy crafts, children’s activities, refreshments and live music from Pan Nation.
