Enfield Pageant of Motoring is returning this May for its 46th year.

Organised by the volunteer team that runs The Whitewebbs Museum of Transport, the pageant is taking place on the weekend of 24th-25th May at its usual location, Enfield Playing Fields.

However, the organisers say the event is becoming more difficult to facilitate with a number of challenges being faced.

Judith Reeve, one of the volunteers, said: “As I’m sure many other event organisers would agree, it’s been one challenge after another since Covid. Ulez hasn’t helped, especially for owners of what are often referred to as ‘young timers’, that is classic cars and motorcycles that are less than 40 years old.

“But we’ve done all we can to come up with attractions to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, including veteran and vintage cars and commercials, military vehicles, buses, including many exhibits from The Whitewebbs Museum of Transport.”

“The classic car club stand bookings have also seen an improvement for this year, but we are still taking entrants with American cars, hot rods and motorcycles.

“To keep everyone entertained, we also have some regular favourites, including the Jamie Squibbs Freestyle Stunt Motorcycle display team, a real live demonstration of a Rolls Royce ‘Merlin’ engine (as fitted to the Spitfire) and, new this year, the start-up of a recently restored Rover gas turbine engine, which was intended to power a future range of cars back in the 1960s.”

Individual vehicle entrants and autojumble stand holders, as well as car and bike clubs, can find full booking and entry details online:
