New spaces for three ‘pop-up’ businesses to trade outside Edmonton Green Station have been launched by Enfield Council.

The Green Pop-Up now hosts three community-focused retail units, “reflecting the area’s rich cultural identity and entrepreneurial spirit”.

The occupiers are Café Nadia, a female-led social café offering healthy food in a welcoming environment, while empowering women through employment, training and community connection; Mama Zizi, a Lebanese-inspired street food concept serving freshly made wraps, sandwiches and signature fries; and The Golden Coffee, a specialty Ethiopian coffee business focused on freshly roasted coffee and creating opportunities through training.

The council-led project attracted 30 expressions of interest, which were whittled down to three following a competitive assessment process.

Two of the successful businesses recently completed the Trailblazer Programme, an initiative designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs to develop and grow their ventures. The third business has been nurtured through Launch It’s Angel Yard incubation programme.

Sabri Ozaydin, the council’s cabinet member for placemaking, said: “We are delighted to see The Green Pop-Up come to life at Edmonton Green. This initiative is a fantastic example of how we can support local entrepreneurs while revitalising our town centres.

“By providing accessible spaces for businesses to grow, we are not only boosting the local economy but also creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.”
