A new “community focused” car boot sale is launching in Palmers Green next month.

Offering locals a chance to turn unwanted items into cash while “promoting a more sustainable way of living”, the Hazelwood Community Car Boot Sale invites residents to buy and sell second-hand goods in a “relaxed, family-friendly environment”.

From clothing and toys to books, homeware, and hidden gems, the event aims to give pre-loved items a second life rather than seeing them discarded.

It is being organised by Hazelwood Parent Staff Association (HPSA), a registered charity, and aims to “keep useful items in circulation for longer” while raising money for enriching children’s education at the school.

Damian Burke, on behalf of HPSA, said: “Car boot sales are one of the simplest and most effective ways to reuse what we already have.

“It’s not just about clearing out your home – it’s about giving things a second chance and creating a sense of community at the same time.”

The event will feature rows of sellers operating from their vehicles or small stall setups, with visitors free to browse throughout the morning until the early afternoon.

Stewards will be on site to manage traffic and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees. Snacks and beverages will also be on sale by HPSA.

Sales of weapons, stolen or counterfeit goods, food and drink, fireworks and alcohol or tobacco products will all be strictly prohibited.

The Hazelwood Community Car Boot Sale is open to both sellers and buyers of all ages – kids under 16 can enter free with adult supervision.

It takes place at Hazelwood School in Hazelwood Lane from 9am-1pm on Sunday, 26th April. The cost for sellers is £15 per car, or £10 walk-in. There’s a £3 discount for pre-bookings. For buyers there’s a £2 entry fee, or £1 for pre-bookings.
