Devonshire Square was previously opened as a temporary space but has now been made permanent

The launch event for a new community and cultural space in Palmers Green is taking place tomorrow (Saturday 24th).
Devonshire Square, which had previously been open as a temporary space at the junction of Green Lanes and Devonshire Road, has now been made permanent with informal seating, attractive signage, a community notice board and new green elements including a rain garden.
The “striking new design” also includes several new mosaic artworks depicting cherished landmarks and key moments in Palmers Green’s history, which have been co-designed with pupils from Laurel Park School.
Devonshire Square is designed to be a flexible space to accommodate a wide variety of events, activities and uses led by the local community.
It following several years of consultation by Enfield Council with local residents, communities and businesses to define the new community and cultural space “in the heart of Palmers Green”.
Saturday’s launch event will start at 1pm and include an official ribbon cutting and welcoming remarks, followed by a live performance from the band Lost Chimes. Refreshments from local cafes will be served throughout until the event’s close at 3pm.
An “exciting programme of cultural events” curated by Arbeit Studios will be taking place at Devonshire Square over June and July.
