A “community mural” will soon adorn the hoardings surrounding Broomfield House and local people are invited to help paint it

Palmers Green residents are being invited to a “paint jam” event in Broomfield Park.
Enfield Council and art group Matchbox Collective, with the help of Friends of Broomfield Park and Broomfield House Trust, are collaborating on the creation of a “community mural” on the hoarding surrounding the derelict building.
The artwork will celebrate the history of both the park and house.
Two workshops with art students at Laurel Park School helped to create elements of the design with Colin Younger from Broomfield Park Trust and Broomfield Park’s head gardener Victoria Black gave presentations to the aspiring artists.
Painting is continuing this week and next and there will be two further community workshops, including the public paint jam, on Saturday, 12th April from 10am-5pm.
Visitors can learn how to use spray paint and create their “own piece of street art”. The event is suitable for children aged over seven years.
