Tottenham Hotspur’s open-top bus parade to celebrate winning the Europa League will begin in Edmonton Green on Friday afternoon.

Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 in Bilbao last night (Wednesday 21st) to lift their first trophy in 17 years and first European trophy in 41 years.

Ange Postecoglu and the boys will begin the victory parade outside Edmonton Green Shopping Centre at 5.30pm before moving slowly south along Fore Street and then Tottenham High Road, passing Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before looping back around via Lansdowne Road and Northumberland Park and finishing outside Sainsbury’s.

The whole parade is expected to last between an hour and 90 minutes.

The time and date of the parade has been agreed with both Enfield and Haringey councils, emergency services and Transport for London “to ensure the delivery of a safe and enjoyable event for all”.

A “staging area” will be erected above the High Road outside the stadium on Paxton Terrace to receive the players and coaching staff for a presentation of the trophy to fans gathered, shortly after the conclusion of the bus parade. Ahead of this, fans will be entertained with a DJ, live music and legend Q&As from 3pm.

However, the club warns: “We expect the High Road area outside the stadium with a view of the stage to be extremely busy and full to capacity early – we encourage spectators to spread out along the parade route. You will be able to watch a livestream of the staged event on the club’s official website, app and YouTube channel no matter where you are, with a number of screens also positioned at intervals along the route.”

Update:

Road closures will be in effect around Edmonton around the time of the parade and Edmonton Leisure Centre will also close from 2pm on Friday. For more information see the council’s web page here.
